What's New ?

The Weapon finally allows recording with the Apple ProRes codecs 4K and 2K (4444XQ, 4444, 422HQ, 422, 422LT) and Avid DNxHR.

We also note:

- Support for 1D-3D LUTs

- RedTouch monitor 4.7'' can connect directly to the camera without cable

- Interchangeable OLPF's are now automatically detected by the camera and settled more simply

- A top handle with trigger to use the camera in "Run & Gun" configuration.


The Weapon is smaller (15 cm high and 11 cm wide) and lighter of 1 kg compared to the Epic (1.3 kg against 2.3 kg).

With the I/O Module, the camera now accepts V-Lock batteries without adapter, and provides additional connectors:

1x D-Tap output

1x USB output (5V 1.5mA)

1x HDMI 1.2 output

1x 3G-SDI output

Ports CTRL & SYNC (for Timecode and Genlock)

2x Stereo headset output (3.5mm jack)

2x Analog stereo input (3.5mm jack)

2x 2-pin LEMO outputs


The Weapon retains the qualities of the Epic, always equipped with the "Dragon 6K" sensor, definition CMOS sensor reaches 6144 x 3160 pixels for 19.4 million pixels in total.

It keeps the dynamics of 16.5 Stops, and the same high-speed performance.

No change for mounts, still available in PL or CANON EF, the Weapon uses the same system as the Epic.
